September morning, still can make me feel that way
Or the one where September 1 falling on a Monday makes my academic-validation-seeking heart sing.
What’s new with Rachel?
It’s September! As my subtitle teases - there’s something so satisfying about September 1 being a Monday. Maybe it’s because I’ve spent so much of my life in school/working for places that follow an academic calendar, but it smells like new beginnings and opportunity.
Thankfully, fall has arrived in the DC area - well, if you consider highs in the 70’s to be fall. 😅 But after the sweat and humidity of summer in this “stupid swamp town”, we’ll take it.
I did not spend my summer watching The Summer I Turned Pretty (though I have loved watching people watching it…), but couldn’t resist this trend to wrap up some of the highlights of the summer.

Writing Corner and Book News
Last time I was in your inbox, I was sharing news of a cover reveal for Make You Mine This Christmas. Now, I’m here with more news - a blurb and news about ARC sign-ups!

Second chance? Professional Santa? Working together? I think you’ll all have a great time. 😉
If you’re interested in an ARC (advanced reader copy), sign-ups are open! Head to geni.us/MYMTC_ARC for more info, including key dates, content notes, and to fill out the form!
Not an ARC reader, but know someone who is? Feel free to forward the link on to them.

Next time I come to you, I’ll have news about pre-orders, including that exclusive code for newsletter subscribers to grab a copy of the new cover of Carry Me Through Christmas.
Speaking of pre-orders - could you take a second to weigh in on if you’d be interested in purchasing a special Release Box? The box would include goodies on theme with Make You Mine This Christmas, and a copy of the book, of course.
Spotify Playlist
Unsurprising to anyone, I’m counting down the days until Life of a Showgirl is released. Until then, I’ll be listening to Sabrina’s new album, and this Taylor playlist on repeat.
New Release Spotlight
My friend Julie had her traditional publishing debut this week, and I’m SO thrilled for her. They’re already needing to print more copies, so you may need to seek it out in person in-stores. But if you can’t find it on shelves right away, keep an eye out or be sure to borrow/request it at your local library. It’s the perfect book for the ‘ber months.

I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of signing season for 2025, but I’m so excited to visit new places and see new faces in 2026!
Tickets are available for Books Books Books, and Ink & Indie.
Stay tuned for 2026 events!

Alright, I’m off to once again hinge my emotional happiness on one real-life football teams and six (yes, I over committed) fantasy teams.
Stay hydrated, call your Reps, and escape with a good book.
Romantically yours,
Rachel
