Salt Air and the Rust on Your Door

It's August!

🎶Salt air, and the rust on your door🎶

Happy August from me and Taylor Swift! 😉 August ALSO means it’s Capitally Engaged release month! I can’t believe it’s here! Look at that spine!

I sent off a very exciting email this week to commission some art for Capitally Engaged that I’m planning to send with pre-orders and have available at my September signings. You can pre-order a signed copy here or if digital is more your speed, ebook pre-orders are available now! Paperbacks from other online retailers will be available closer to Pub day.

We’re getting to the point where people are already starting to read Jax and Preston’s story, and ARCs will be going out into the world very soon. That’s always a scary time, but it’s also really exciting to see everyone meet these two characters that I’m really, really proud of.

I also absolutely shared the wrong link two weeks ago (Thanks Shannon D. for pointing it out!), so I’m sharing the link for ARC sign-ups again here. Anyone who filled out the form last time, I’ve already moved you over - so you’re all set. :)

Sports Romance Reads

Are you as obsessed with the Olympics as I am? It’s been my background noise (or maybe at times my main focus of attention…) all week, so today I’m giving you some Sports Romance recommendations! Some of these are oldies, but goodies that I think you should give a chance! As always, be sure to check content warnings.

Writing Corner

I’ve officially started revising my MFA Thesis. This is going to be a very different revision process than I’ve ever done before - intentionally broken up into chunks over the next 8 months or so, but I’m really excited for where this story will end up when I’m done.

Spotify Playlist

I don’t know if you’re a Spotify user and a frequent listener to your daylist, but I sure am. If you’re not familiar, the daylist is a playlist that Spotify updates a few times a day, building you a playlist that matches your listening history for that time of day and day of the week. I’ve started saving playlists that were particularly great (because they do disappear after it updates), so please enjoy “Film Feels 90s Movie Tuesday Early Morning” (The names are also usually more unhinged than this, which is disappointing.)

New Release Spotlight

Today, I’m sharing a kickstarter opportunity that’s very near and dear to my heart. My wonderful editor Lacey has written a children’s book that follows Little Book through his unexpected first day of school, a bit of separation anxiety, and finally allowing others into his world. Lacey has some great reward tiers, including the option to donate a copy to a classroom. I hope you’ll consider backing this project!
