Escape Reality
What’s new with Rachel?
Well, y’all I did it. I turned in my thesis, Capitally Unexpected came out, and we had a great time at Apollycon 2025. It’s a level of exhaustion I’d like to not meet again anytime soon, but at the end of it all, I have a new book in the world, I got to hang out with a bunch of awesome readers and authors, and I’m one step closer to MFA graduation.
I got to moderate two amazing panels and sign my books in two local independent bookstore. I signed so many books, yearbooks, posters, and other neat items and got to introduce so many people to my stories. It’ll be a hard weekend to top, for sure.

Before moderating the Bookfluencer panel, and holding Capitally Unexpected on release day (so nice of Apollycon to match my cover, yes?)

Signing books at Friends to Lovers, Alexandria’s romance bookstore and Old Town Books

A collage of photos from the weekend. Shout out to Kelly for being my photographer, keeping me fed and hydrated, and keeping me sane.
Writing Corner and Book News
It feels strange to not be actively working on anything now that my thesis is turned in. But don’t worry, I get to work on Austin’s book on Monday - I just gave myself a week off to recover first. ;)
Everyone has been so kind and loving with their Capitally Unexpected reception! I’m so glad Michelle and Hunter are out in the world, and am excited for people to keep finding these Brandt Brothers and jump into their world.

You can find links on where to buy Capitally Unexpected at geni.us/Capitally_Unexpected. Already read and loved Hunter and Michelle’s story? Leaving a review on Amazon, Goodreads, Bookbub, or Storygraph is one of the most helpful thigns you can do to help other readers find and fall in love with them too.
New Release Spotlight
Two authors I admire and am lucky to call friends have books out this week, so you’re getting a bonus book in the spotlight. 😄
First up is Rachel Larberge’s third and final book in her Play Caller series, Your Secret to Keep. It can be read as a standalone and is the first book in the series to focus on a basketball player. I haven’t had a chance to read this one yet, but have it waiting for me on my Kindle to devour ASAP. You can grab Your Secret to Keep here!
It’s a day for third novels in series, and Julie Olivia’s On Midnight Shores, the third interconnected standalone in her Never Harbor series is out today. These Peter Pan inspired stories are heartfelt and spicy, and I’m sure this one is going to be so amazing, just like everything else Julie does. You can grab On Midnight Shores here!
I'm so excited to be participating in the 4th Anniversary Party for the Worth the Wait Season Romance Readers Facebook Group this Saturday!
All of these lovely authors listed here will be promoing romance books where all partners involved are over the age of 30. Hunter and Michelle fit perfectly into that bracket - I'm so excited for someone to win the chance to read their story!
Head on over to https://www.facebook.com/groups/worththewaitseasonedromancereaders and join the group for a chance to win books, swag, gift cards, and who knows what else from all the authors listed here!
