There's no crying in baseball

Unless it's from your allergies

What’s new with Rachel?

Still coming to you from Western PA, but we’re down to single digits in my time here—I’ll be heading back to Virginia next Saturday after I catch the Bucco’s opening day on the 4th. It’s been great to be able to be here, but I think my Dad’s ready to have his living room back without my desk and all my stuff in the middle of it. 😂

Some of you may remember that I’m working on an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction. I’m scheduled to graduate this June (yay!) and my thesis novel final draft is due on April 9th. Yes, if you’re paying attention, that’s one day before Capitally Unexpected releases—luckily I’m not being graded on my ability to balance deadlines. This is a project that’s near and dear to my heart, and I’m excited to see it progress to the next stage. I have a stretch goal of getting it turned in by the 3rd so when I get back to VA I can focus on book release and Apollycon prep, as well as spending time with Dan and the fur babies, of course.

Writing Corner and Book News

Less than two weeks until Capitally Unexpected! ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) are out, Author copies have been ordered for pre-orders and Apollycon, and the book should be syncing into online bookstore databases anytime now - maybe even by the time you’re reading this!

If you haven’t pre-ordered yet and want to secure one from that first batch of books, I recommend getting your order in soon! Plus, I have some really cute art in the works that I can’t wait to share with you. You can click here to find the ebook and signed copy links - I’ll add those other online link options as they become available!

I’ve hit my “attainable” pre-order goal, and am now gunning for my “stretch” goal (Can you tell I’ve been working on SMART goals lately?) I understand you may not be able to pre-order right now, but sharing the news of this book with someone who may enjoy it, or leaving a review after you’ve read an ARC or if you plan to read it in Kindle Unlimited is incredibly valuable and appreciated. 🥰

Spotify Playlist

We love baseball in this house, and I’m so excited that the regular season is back. I’m very into this playlist right now for ✨reasons✨ I’ll tell you about one day.

Book Recommendations

Many of us in the online book community have been participating in the Trans Rights Readathon this week, through March 31st. The aim is to highlight books featuring Trans characters and uplift trans voices, in a time where being sure these stories and these voices have a stage is incredibly important. This is my TBR, which I’m probably going to need to keep working through after the 31st, but that’s okay, because we should be reading diversely all year long. :)

Where to See Rachel

Pre-order links for all signings can be found on the Events page of my website.

For anyone who will be at Apollycon, I can’t wait to see you! Stop by my table in Potomac (#402)! for new stickers, new bookmarks, new books, and same old me. 🙂

2025 is shaping up to be an incredible year! (So is 2026, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves…) I’m so excited to visit new places and see new faces next year! Tickets are available for Lust in Virginia Beach, Romantically Yours Con, Romance Con, Books Books Books, Ink & Indie, and Love & Tech Book Fest.

No ticket needed for Old Town Book Fair!

Alright, I’m off to see let the Pirates get my hopes up for yet another year (I’m an eternal optimist, what can I say?)

Stay hydrated, call your Reps, and escape with a good book.

Romantically Yours,

Rachel
