March comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb?
Or the one where we all get fooled by fake Spring.
What’s new with Rachel?
Greetings from Pennsylvania! Sharing a little update from caretaking duties (I’m staying with my parents to help out while my Dad recovers from ankle surgery. Almost 7 weeks down!)
Things are going great - Dad’s walking in a boot without any assistance, starts outpatient physical therapy next week, and should be able to go from the boot to a brace next week too. Once he’s comfortable driving and gets the strength in his leg back up, I’ll be heading home, maybe ahead of schedule. (Whether or not this is ahead of my use of the Pirates Opening Day ticket I bought is a subject of debate, lol.)
This hasn’t been easy, but I know I’ll look back on this time and be glad I had the ability to do it, and appreciate the longest time we’ve lived under one roof in almost 20 years.
It’s also been neat to give Dad such an inside glimpse into what all goes into making a book happen. There’s a lot of instances of “understanding those words, but not so much in that order,” but he’s eager to try and get it.
And yes, it did mean writing some very steamy scenes with him in the same room. When you get to Chapters 18 and 19 of Capitally Unexpected, this was my drafting view.. 😂😂

Writing Corner and Book News
It’s less than a month until Capitally Unexpected! The manuscript is off for proofreading, proof copies of the paperback have been ordered - this thing is going to get out into the world, one way or another!
If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, today’s a great time to do so! You can click here to find the ebook and signed copy links - as more paperback formats become available, I’ll add them here!
I’m less than ten ebook pre-orders away from my personal goal, and over halfway to my ARC reader signup goal. Even if pre-ordering isn’t your budget right now, sharing the news about my books is so powerful. So, if you feel so inclined, tell your mail (wo)man, your bank teller, the friend at the next gas pump over. 🥰

Today is also the last day for a sale on signed paperbacks (other than Capitally Unexpected) from my website. The other three titles are 25% off - I won’t be able to ship anything until I’m back to VA, but if you need to add anything to your Capitally Unexpected order, it’s the perfect time.
Spotify Playlist
You all are getting the very first look at the Playlist for Capitally Unexpected. I’ve always wanted to share one of these together for my books, but this is the first time it’s actually come together in a cohesive way. I think I can thank Sara Cate’s Prodigal Son playlist for influencing my Spotify alogrithm. 🤣
New Release Spotlight
My good pal, Sarah Estep released a new book yesterday that I want to share with you. She’s written a book full of swoons and pining, and it rounds out her Brunch Bros series, full of characters I think you’ll love. The series is being released on audio too (Book 3 is out later in March!), so be sure to head on over to Hoopla or Libro.fm and check them out if you prefer to read via your ears! (Coming Swoon will be out on audio in the future as well!)
Where to See Rachel
Pre-order links for all signings can be found on the Events page of my website.
2025: It’s almost signing season! 2025 is shaping up to be an incredible year! (So is 2026, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves…) I’m so excited to visit new places and see new faces next year! Tickets are available for Lust in Virginia Beach, Romantically Yours Con, Romance Con, Books Books Books, Ink & Indie, and Love & Tech Book Fest.

No ticket needed for Old Town Book Fair!

Alright, I’m off to stay up too late to watch a lunar eclipse (writing this Thursday evening) and pray to whatever deities are listening the Steelers don’t sign Aaron Rodgers.
Stay hydrated, call your Reps, and escape with a good book. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
