Bring Make You Mine This Christmas Home Today!
Or the one where my fifth book is out in the world?! (Wild.)
Writing Corner and Book News
Make You Mine This Christmas is out in the world!

It's officially time head back to Holly Ridge.
Not to be all Jennifer Coolidge about it, but these gays really did try to murder me. Writing Austin's story was my first experience at writing a reader favorite and I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to do him justice. But then, Brody came along, and I accepted my new-found appreciation for second chance romances, and now we're here.
In a lot of ways, I think Austin and Hunter (from Capitally Unexpected) would be best friends—if the position were ever to be vacated by Cole, of course. Honestly, they probably gave each other a dude nod in a Holly Ridge bar at one point or another.
I hope you love Austin and Brody, my favorite two knuckleheads, as much as I do and enjoy watching them find their way back to each other. It's where they were always meant to be— they just needed to take the long way to get there.

What’s New With Rachel
I’m headed back to PA tomorrow for my Dad’s knee replacement on Monday. For those of you who were here at the beginning of 2025, yes, this is the second joint this year (and the third in the last 24 months), but we have assurances the other ankle is in good shape, so we should be all set for the foreseeable future (knocks on wood). I’ll only be there for 2.5 weeks this time instead of 10, so send your good vibes we can find our groove again and all goes well. I’m looking forward to catching up some reading, start working on some surprises for 2026, and getting started on Spencer’s story for the Spring.

It finally felt like Fall today in DC (a nip in the air, as hubby put it), so if you’re not quite ready for Christmas yet (obviously, I’m all in), enjoy some October Obsessions from Spotify
New Release Spotlight
Continuing with theme of: if you’re saving your Christmas Romance for after Halloween - this week’s New Release radar is for you! Katie Cawood’s October Forever is out now! (How cute is this cover?!)
When Lucy Wheeler returns to her family’s gothic hotel on the shores of Lake Michigan, she’s hoping for a quiet reset after losing her job in the city. Instead, she’s juggling fussy brides, quirky tourists, and her mom’s ambitious plan to turn the grounds into a haunted village. The last thing she needs is another distraction… especially not a grumpy contractor who insists on getting under her skin.
Cameron Fox didn’t come to Underwood looking for distractions, either. As a single dad, he’s focused on finishing this haunted village project and keeping his distance from the stubborn hotel heiress, whose quick wit keeps pulling him in. What starts as bickering and flirtation soon turns into an agreement: they’ll just have a casual fling until his contract is up at the end of October. No strings attached.
As the leaves change colors and the days get shorter, Lucy and Cameron can’t help wishing October would last forever.
Read October Forever if you're looking for:
🍂 cozy fall read
🍂 hotel setting
🍂 Halloween vibes
🍂 single dad romance
🍂 a short read (under 200 pages)
🍂 mostly plot with a few spicy scenes
Where to See Rachel
Ink & Indie was a perfect way to wrap up 2025 signing season. I had so much fun seeing everyone and meeting new people, but I’m excited to hang around home (well either my home or my parent’s home) for a little while.
Stay tuned for 2026 events!
Alright, I’m off to watch the Heated Rivalry trailer another five times and finish this seventh(?) re-read. If you’re looking to accept a couple of Americans into your Canadian home with a Crave subscription, let me know…
Stay hydrated, call your Reps, and escape with a good book.
Romantically Yours,
Rachel
